No one but you will understand...

I'm double posting today!  My blog about Trisha, and then talking to a couple of my friends this morning made me think of all these little inside jokes I have with them.  Then Sally posted on my "Thankful for the Little Things" blog, and that made me think how thankful I am for those little things with my friends.

Over the years many of them have just become terms of endearment:  Random Q, Squirrel!, Hey You!, Winky not Gunky, Shmemily and Shmoph, Indeed and perhaps, Just sayin'...

Some are just awesome memories: SIMP: Squirrels in my Pants!, SHANKS!, "Either I drank too much or I lost my car", The Pear Tattoo, I hated you in High School but I love you now, Coconut shrimp and ooey gooey chocolate desserts stuck in our teeth  (And don't forget our three waiters), virtual slumber party, Cleveland....

Some little things remind me of them:  Anyone with a British accent or when I'm trying to figure out European geography, shamrock shakes, how my kids name every toy they get and even our van "Sally", anything to do with dragons and polar bears, a pear or a pair of twins, comparing Twilight views, tator tots, bunny rabbits and losing them...

I really love my friends, each and every one of them.  And I love making memories, and I love having these little things that are just ours and that no one else understands.  I feel special.

DISCLAIMER:  If I missed anything that has to do with you, my dear friend, please do not feel left out.  Sometimes when I write like this my mind goes blank.  Do me a favor and remind me about it in a comment below so that we can both sit back and smile remembering what we mean to each other.

  2. Winky not gunky is one of the oddest terms of endearment ;) Always makes me think of our other joke from that time - they eyeball on the gurney haha!
