5QF: Food, Summer, Heat

What is a 5QF?
It's a 5 Question Friday!  I know I have a lot of followers that don't even know who I am, so I thought I would start this one to give you all a little insight in to me.  We'll see if I like it.  Basically, five random questions from 5CrookedHalos.  You can join in too if you'd like!  Make sure you share your link with me below in my comments!

1. What's your favorite childhood snack that you still eat as an adult?
The first thing that popped into my mind is a bagel with cream cheese and Cool Ranch Doritos on it.  Yes, I said on it....and No, I did not start eating this when I was pregnant.  This became a staple lunch of mine in High School.  One of my friends did it and we all tried it and it was amazing....boy that sounded kinda like drugs....

 2. What food will you not eat the low fat version of?
Gorsh, there's so many.  I'd rather eat a smaller portion than go to low fat.

 3. What's your favorite way to cool off during the summer?
I love floating in a tube on a lake.  I love the way the waves bounce me up and down.  Before I had kids to tend to at the lake, I used to fall asleep in the tube and get a nice crisp sun burn.  Now it's more like I have at least one child sitting on me asking me to swim back and forth from the shore to the jumping dock.  That's become even more likable!

 4. What's your favorite summer read?
I have never been good at reading during the summer.  I have issues with the sun hitting the page and then frying my eye balls.  I've tried so many different ways to make it work, but I realized I don't really care to do it anyway.  If I'm laying around able to read, I'd just rather keep my eyes closed and listen to what's around me.  I love the sound of my kids giggling and water splashing.

 5. What are you doing to stay cool in this awful heat?
We hand washed the cars today!  It was actually on our summer bucket list to do, and the kids loved it!  We all got wet and soapy and really enjoyed each other.  And bonus, our cars got all shiny!

At least I understand me....I think...

I wish you were in my brain, so that when I write or talk you understand me.  I get tired of trying to explain myself.  It's like words that come out aren't what I'm thinking or feeling.  I make no sense.  So I guess I can't blame you for not understanding me.

It seems that the more frustrated I get in these situations, the less and less sense I do make.  I get lost in it too.  Then I'm frustrated with myself because I can't get my point across.  Then I resent you for not understanding me and making me sound stupid.

I wish my brain and my mouth (or fingers in this case) were actually friends with each other.  I would make more sense.  You would like me more.

In the mean time, just remember 4 words: "You are right, Taylor."  Or a simple, "I don't understand you, but I love you to pieces regardless" would suffice.

Things I think...

This is just an insight into my manic brain. Please note, when I say "you" or anything like that, I'm not necessarily talking about anyone in particular.  These are just things I think often.

Am I cool enough to be your friend?
I wonder if you're ever out with your other friends and you think, "I wish Taylor were here."
Did you notice my zit? I think you're looking at it.  Stop looking at it!
OMG!  Did I put make-up on today before I ran into you at Walmart?
I wish you liked me as much as her.
Did I look like a dork?
Why did I say that?
I'm not really interested in talking to you because I gotta potty, so I don't even know what you are saying.
What word am I thinking?  Oh, I'm going to sound really stupid if I use that word in the wrong context!
I could do that waaaaay better than you!
I totally don't get how your mind works!
I'm pretty sure you're joking, because I don't think that's pretty/good work so I don't see how you do.
You really hurt my feelings but I don't know how to tell you that without sounding pathetic.
I soooo could use that as a photo prop!
I have money in my bank account, so I have to spend it and I have to do it now!
I need to end our friendship because I'd rather not feel like poo because you love your other friends more than me.
If you talk to me like I'm a child one more time, I'm going to kick you in the knee!
I really should do that.....eh, I'll do it tomorrow.
Geez, I'm hungry!
I wish I were as cool as you.
I wonder if you wonder how I'm doing as much as I wonder how you are doing.
Do I seem stalkerish if I try to talk to you every day?
I'd rather be napping right now.
I'm totally going to blog this!
I wonder if you realize I haven't heard a word you are saying because I'm thinking of something else.
If I give more, people will love me more.
I am so angry right now that I could rip off your head an spit on the bloody stump that is your neck. Just sayin'.
Dammit, I should have thought before I said something.
I could have worn that....10 years ago! I wonder if you remember when I was skinny.
I wonder if you will realize I'm talking about you in my blog.
I don't understand why you like her?  I'm way cooler!
The only reason you can do that better than me is because you have the money to buy better equipment.
And you say you're a professional?
Can I smell your baby's head?  Seriously...I just like how it smells!
Did you wash your hands?
So I was just winging it there, but please make it look like I totally knew what I was doing!
That's it!  I'm runnin' away!
I just wanna lay in my bed and not do anything all day long....except eat, of course.
You really should be praising me for doing what I did so very very well! Or you will give me a complex!
How the hell did I get such a fat face?
You should really like me a lot more than you like her!
I like to make it look like I don't care, but I really do.
Can you do this for me?  I don't wanna.
Fiji....nuff said.
I have a craving for mushrooms.
Any woman under 150 pounds is stupid!  Grrrrr!
Me me me!  Why aren't you thinking about ME?!

The Basics of Me

The best way to get to know me at all is to just read the blog as it goes.  I'll try to fill you in on back-information as I go.  But here's the basics:

  • I'm 30...yah, I admit it.  I turned 30 yesterday.  Not that happy about that.
  • I have 3 kids:  Anastasia Carina (More commonly referred to as Annie) 3/23/03 so she's 8.  Jaxon Jeremiah (often called JJ) 4/8/05 so he will be 6 this week.  And Cooper Zane and Tyson Zachariah 8/23/06, 4 year old identical twins.
  • I'm married to Luke and we live in Mid-Michigan.
  • I own two businesses--SnapDragon Photography (professional photographer, baby!) and HunnyBunny Designs.
  • My twins were born 3 months early.  Tyson has a trach and feeding tube due to lung damage by the ventilators that kept him alive at birth.  Wanna know more about Ty?  Go here (yah, he's famous!).
  • I have 2 dogs:  Jelly Bean is a yorkie poo runt and Ernie is a beagle/heeler mix runt.
Hmmm....I think that's a good start.  Anything else you will probably pick up as we go on.

Oh oh!  One last thing!!  Why "The Pear Tattoo"?  When my twins were almost a year old, one of my besties, Rae, who also has identical twin girls that are two weeks younger than my boys, and I got a little, one-inch pear tattooed on our feet (my right, her left).  This was to commemorate having a "pair" of kids and our friendship as we have been friends since the we were both pregnant with our twinkies and still are as close to this day.  We are also trying to get our friend, Lys, who also went through the twin pregnancy journey with us and has identical girls born a month after Rae's daughters, to get it too!  (Come on, leave a comment and pressure her into it with us!!!) ;-)

Time to get Blogtastic!

I've blogged before in several different mediums.  But every blog I had was focused towards something.  And if you know anything at all about me you know I have no focus...

I recently wrote a story about a little shopping trip with my son Tyson that went slightly out of way (which I am going to copy and paste into a blog post on here.  Look I'm already cheating!)and had many people say I should be a writer.  This intrigues me.  I love writing.  It's like talking with no interruptions.  The writing is therapeutic to me for I have quite a chaotic life (albeit a very good one).  Also, it's entertaining.  I like being snarky, I like putting my thoughts in writing for others to see (there are so many I would never be able to get them all out of my mouth anyway), I like being myself (no one can tell me what to write while I write it, so there!)...Mostly, I like to make my thoughts less abstract and more tangible so I can understand them better.

So who is this blog for?  I'd love to say it's for my readers (if I get any beside my bestie Rae and good friend and amazing supporter Kristina), but honestly, it's for me!  But I'd like you all to enjoy it with me!

PS  If you want to encourage me to keep writing, to not let go of something I started, to keep going on with this therapeutic journey, comment, and comment often! :-)
